Discover something new in Stockport
Stockport Council have launched a new directory of community groups and activities on the Council’s website.
Steve Skelton, Head of Policy at Stockport Council explained why. “We have a clear plan to give local people the tools and support they need to come together and create stronger communities. Our research showed that there was no single place for information on community groups and activities in Stockport so we have created this directory to make it easier for everyone to find the information they need.”
Maybe you’re new to Stockport and don’t know how to find out about children’s activities. Or you recently retired and now have time on your hands to take up a new hobby or play more sport. Perhaps your GP has recommended you put a little time into your health and wellbeing. Whatever the reason, there’s now an easy way to find out about community groups and activities taking place in your area.
You can choose from a list of types of activity from arts to adventure, fitness to theatre and you can display the groups closest to where you live or work.
If you are involved with a community group that isn’t yet listed it’s easy to add yourselves to the directory – just complete the online form and we’ll do the rest. The directory is growing all the time - it really is the easiest way to discover something new in Stockport!
