Dedicated vaccination clinics for 12-15 year olds at the One Stockport Hub
This week is the first chance for 12-15 year olds to get their second COVID-19 vaccination.
Twelve weeks must have passed since the first dose was given.
This age group can walk into the One Stockport Hub, Mersey Square, SK1 1RA, with a parent, guardian, or carer for their first or second vaccination. Parental consent is needed on arrival and the clinic is open on the following dates:
Monday, 20 December, 10am-3pm, Tuesday, 21 December, 10am-2pm, and Wednesday, 22 December, 10am-3pm.
There is no need to book an appointment for these clinics, just turn up. Parents can also book COVID-19 vaccinations online for their 12-15 year old children on the National Booking Service, or by calling 119 for free.
Dr Cath Munro, Chair of NHS Stockport Clinical Commissioning Group said: “We’re pleased to be able offer this age group the opportunity to have their second COVID-19 vaccination before Christmas.
“But if a young person still hasn’t taken up the offer of a first vaccination, please attend one of the three clinics at the One Stockport Hub. Having the vaccine protects you from serious illness and makes you less likely to spread COVID-19, keeping your friends and family from getting seriously ill from COVID-19 this Christmas.”
Colin Foster, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Family Services & Education, said: “With the Omicron variant quickly spreading through the country, it’s so important that our young people protect themselves, their families and the wider community by getting a second Covid vaccination if it’s been 12 weeks since their first.
“It’s also not too late for them to get a first vaccination if they missed their school date or couldn’t have it sooner due to having had Covid in the past few months.”
