Stockport Council is counting down to national Recycle Week as it approaches its 15th year.

National Recycle Week is taking place 24th to 30th September and we are joining forces with our partners Recycle for Greater Manchester to focus on recycling plastic bottles.

Whether it’s the bathroom, bedroom or kitchen, plastic bottles can be recycled from all over the house. All you have to remember is if its bottle shaped it can be recycled.

Cllr Sheila Bailey, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing, said: “Stockport is already home to some very keen recyclers and I would like to thank each and every one of them for making their contribution to the environment.

“Recycle Week fits perfectly with our "We Love Stockport – Be Proud of Where You Live" campaign which encourages people to go that extra mile and recycle even more.”

To find out more about recycling you can join Recycle for Greater Manchester and the Council at Co-op, Wellington Road, Stockport on Friday 28th September 11-3pm.
