Stockport Council has confirmed that Cllr Mark Roberts will continue in his role as Leader of the Council, while Cllr Jilly Julian will also remain as Deputy Leader of the Council.
Cllr Roberts took over as Leader in 2025, replacing Cllr Mark Hunter.
In a short video, both Cllr Roberts and Cllr Julian welcome the start of the new municipal year.

The following councillors will also be part of the cabinet: Cllr Dan Oliver, Cllr Grace Baynham, Cllr Colin MacAlister, Cllr Helen Foster-Grime, Cllr Micheala Meikle, Cllr Jake Austin.
Each Cabinet member holds a portfolio of areas across the council that they are responsible for.
The Council Meeting has also given approval to the appointment of members to committees, including the appointment of chairs and vice-chairs.
