Consultation now open on draft Education Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

The council has prepared a draft Education Contributions SPD and we are now seeking views from residents and others on its proposals.

Consultation now open on draft Education Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

The SPD provides guidance on how and when we will seek developer contributions to support education.

The council has a statutory duty to ensure there are enough school places within the borough to meet its educational needs. The development of new homes can increase the need for additional school places.

The council is proposing to seek financial contributions from new residential developments to help fund new education facilities wherever they are expected to create an impact on local schools. The draft Education Contributions SPD sets out how contributions will be calculated, and other related issues.

The public consultation invites comments on all aspects of the SPD and associated documents.

The draft Education Contributions SPD and supporting documents can be viewed online here - https://consultation.stockport.gov.uk/planning/stockport-education-contributions-spd/
