Apprenticeships Store Results Open Evening
On Thursday 30th August at the Apprenticeships Store, the Participation and Education Services are hosting a Store Open Evening for students
On Thursday 30 August at the Apprenticeships Store, Stockport Exchange, the Participation and Education Services are hosting a Store Open Evening for students who have received their GCSE and A Level results.
The event will run from 4.30 pm until 7pm and will be offering advice to students and their parents who want to gain more information about apprenticeships and how this educational pathway can be beneficial.
Throughout the evening, Stockport Council’s current and past apprentices will be on hand to answer any questions about apprenticeships and will be helping students to get set up on the National Apprenticeship website to have a browse through live vacancies and offering help and guidance on interview techniques and CV writing skills.
The BBC have been invited and will be sharing their knowledge on the apprenticeships they have to offer within the organisation and the adjustments needed to prepare you for going into industry straight from school or college and Salford College will be attending to discuss different career paths you can take in a variety of areas. Information packs will be made for students and their parents to take away on the night.
Students will also have the opportunity to sign up to the Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (www.stockport.gov.uk/idea). This award is the digital equivalent of the Duke of Edinburgh and is becoming well recognised by employers nationwide.)
Councillor Dean Fitzpatrick, Cabinet Member for Education said: “This is a great opportunity for school and college leavers to get information and guidance on their next steps towards their future careers. This event is an excellent opportunity to educate and inform Stockport students and their parents about the apprenticeships on offer here in Stockport”
