1. Taxi licensing processes
In line with guidance from the government and Public Health England relating to social distancing and the coronavirus, we’ve taken the difficult decision to close our public reception facilities. This includes all taxi licensing surgery appointments, drop-in sessions, knowledge tests and visual accident damage inspections.
Please do not attend the Town Hall complex until further notice.
In the short term, only photographed or scanned copies of documents will be accepted. We will not be taking paper documents or asking you to attend to verify documents associated with your application.
Due to capacity and high demand for our services, we’re currently unable to take telephone calls. If you have an urgent enquiry please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll respond as soon as possible. Emails are being prioritised and we ask for your patience while we deal with the most urgent matters first.
During this difficult time we’re working on ways to support our licensees. We’ve implemented a number of new procedures that aim to help those who:
- wish to continue working during the crisis
- are not able to work through choice or because of current restrictions
We’ll do our best to process applications before the expiry of your current licence. We're doing everything we can to minimise any disruption and ask for your patience where this is not possible.
Annual fee review
The planned fee increases are on hold until further notice. We will review this when business returns to normal.
