4. School trips to Stockport museums

We've made some changes to our school programmes for the autumn 2020 and spring 2021 terms to make sure that visits are safe for schools and museum staff.

From October 2020, the following school trips will be available:

All other school trips are suspended until further notice.

These school trips have been adapted to make sure that they can run safely and in line with government guidance for schools and museums. Learning objectives will not be affected by the changes.

Some of the changes include:

  • reduced group sizes with up to 30 pupils from 1 ‘class bubble’ group accommodated per day, per site

  • no mixing of groups with other schools or general museum visitors

  • enhanced hygiene and cleaning protocols including PPE requirements for staff and visitors such as face shields and coverings

  • social and physical distancing protocols including a new one way system around the museums to protect school visitors and museum staff

You can view our risk assessment for information about the risks and measures in place.

Future school trips

We aim to have the full range of school trips available by April 2021 and we're now taking provisional bookings. All school trips and bookings will be subject to government guidance in place at that time. You can find information about our school trips on our webpage.
