Museums Officer: Learning and children’s provision
Our museums and galleries connect people with the lived experience of Stockport. We've developed an excellent reputation for our schools’ provision and deliver a variety of popular sessions. We've got a variety of exciting roles and look for reliable and creative people to join our team, working across Stockport’s heritage sites to deliver engaging learning sessions.
You might:
- act as a first point of contact for all visitors to our museums
- answer enquiries, handle bookings and retail sales
- design and deliver engaging learning sessions for schools; often in role and in period costume
- prepare sessions, including resources and the setting up and taking down of activities
- assist with the day-to-day security, maintenance and operation of the site
- work with teachers to continually develop our provision
- work with the museums team to keep our wider museums offer family friendly
- help design attractive school holiday activities
You’ll need:
- excellent customer service and organisation skills
- confidence to deliver activities, demonstrations and tours
- to enjoy working with children
- a friendly, professional manner, engaging with visitors in our museums and collections in person and online
- a good understanding of what makes a museum attractive to children and young people
