Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow and Compstall Neighbourhood Forum began preparing a neighbourhood plan for its area in 2019. A summary of the key steps that have been taken and the current position is provided below.
Redesignation, 2025
Designation of a neighbourhood forum lasts for 5 years. Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow and Compstall Neighbourhood Forum has submitted an application for redesignation as the ‘relevant body’ for the Mellor, Marple Bridge, Mill Brow and Compstall Neighbourhood Area.
If a designation is made, no other organisation or body may be designated for that neighbourhood area until that designation expires or is withdrawn.
The council is inviting public representations on this application which must be received during the consultation period from 6 November to 21 December 2025.
