Market traders

1. Overview

Stockport Market provides a flexible, affordable, supportive environment for both new and existing businesses.

Trading takes place from within the Covered Market Hall, Produce Hall and Outdoor Market.

Both the Covered Market Hall and Produce Hall house traders who take out an annual licence for their stall. They commit to trading four days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday).

There is a waiting list for trading in both of the Hall’s. You can be added to these if you send your name, trading goods, previous trading locations to Stockport Market Office.

When stalls become available, they're offered to traders who are selling goods that are complementary to established businesses.

The charge for trading from within the Hall’s is calculated from the stalls square meterage (£7.00 per sq m). The electricity usage is billed quarterly and business rates are payable directly to the Business Rates Team.

The Outdoor Market is predominantly second hand on a Tuesday with new goods trading on a Friday and Saturday.
