Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Democratic & Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport, SK1 3XE on any working day after the date of publication of this notice, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, but no later than 4pm on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Democratic & Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport, SK1 3XE, during the times stated above.
If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. You can register to vote online.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Democratic & Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport, SK1 3XE by 5pm on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. You can apply for a postal vote online.
Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. You can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate online.
New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Democratic & Electoral Services Office, Town Hall, Edward Street, Stockport, SK1 3XE by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. You can apply for a proxy vote online.
