Stockport Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP)
The Stockport Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) consists of 3 statutory partners:
- Stockport Council
- Greater Manchester Police
- NHS Greater Manchester
We work in partnership to support and safeguard the people of Stockport to enable them to live safe, healthy and, where possible, independent lives.
If you need more information about the contents of this page or the partnership, email the SSCP support team: lsb@stockport.gov.uk
Working Together to Safeguard Children sets out the duty to undertake child safeguarding practice reviews. The criteria for completing reviews is set out in chapter 5 of Working Together 2023 (PDF 1.94Mb).
Important lessons are learned from the detailed review of cases where children have died or received a life-threatening injury due to abuse or neglect.
Each local child safeguarding practice review is managed by experienced senior managers from partnership agencies. Members are identified according to the needs of each case to make sure that the panel is independent from involvement in the case and has access to any expert knowledge required.
If you have any questions about past serious case reviews, email the SSCP at lsb@stockport.gov.uk.
