Activities

The suggested activities are all simple things, most of which you can do at home. Building dens, making finger puppets and learning a new song or rhyme might even be things you already do. Have a chat about the character card theme or one of the books you’ve read while doing the activity, and your little one has completed an activity.

Some activities include coming to the library for rhymetime or storytime sessions. We'd love to have you visit. Each library in Stockport has a weekly storytime – visit our events calendar for days and times.

Little Steps Activity Sessions

We also have a fantastic Little Steps Activity Session every month in a different library. These sessions are an hour filled with music, movement, dancing, bubbles and fun. Designed and led by Jess from Popcat’s Music Time, they support Early Years and social development.

Each session supports a different animal card in the Little Steps scheme. If you're taking part in the scheme, this fulfils one of the activities on the reverse of the card.

Places are free, but please book a ticket to reserve a space as these events are very popular. Have a look at our events calendar to find the best session for you and book on.

We hope to see you in your local library soon enjoying Little Steps.
