Signpost Stockport for Carers

An independent local charity supporting carers for more than 30 years.

A carer is anyone providing help to a friend, neighbour or relative who could not manage without them because of frailty, illness, addiction or disability.

Carers Partnership

The Carers Partnership was established by Stockport Council in the autumn of 2023. Stockport Signpost for Carers was appointed to lead the partnership.

Being a carer is very demanding and the number of carers is increasing year by year. The aim of the partnership is to improve support for, and recognition of, carers to help reduce the workload on the health services.
