Homeless advice

Help and advice is available if you're at risk of losing your home or you're homeless and have nowhere to live.

You may lose your home if you're:

  • behind with your mortgage payments
  • having problems renting privately
  • suffering domestic abuse or a relationship breakdown
  • being asked to leave by friends or family
  • being asked to leave a private tenancy
  • leaving prison
  • leaving care

Contact Stockport Homes if you think you're at risk of losing your home for any of the above reasons.

If you do become homeless the Homechoice Team may be able to provide you with temporary accommodation.

For a homeless emergency outside normal office opening hours, please call 0161 474 2818.

You can visit our housing strategies and documents webpages to read our Homelessness Prevention and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2021 to 2024.

If you see someone sleeping rough

If you see someone sleeping rough, call 0161 217 6016 or email homechoice@stockporthomes.org. Please provide details of when and where you saw them and what they looked like. Working with partners we'll arrange to visit them within 24 hours and look at what support can be offered to help them off the street.
