Health and Wellbeing Board

3. Pharmacy Needs Assessment

Every Health and Wellbeing Board in England has a statutory responsibility to publish and keep an up to date statement of needs for pharmaceutical services of the population in its area. This is referred to as a pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA).

PNAs are comprehensive assessments of the current and anticipated pharmaceutical needs of the community. They assist local commissioners and service providers by giving an evidence base on how best to plan and commission pharmacy services to meet the needs of the population.

2018-2021 Pharmacy Needs Assessment

Stockport Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) 2018 (PSD 2.41Mb) has been produced by Stockport's Health and Wellbeing Board and is available to view and download.

As pharmacy provision or population health needs in Stockport change between 2018 to 2021, supplementary statements to this PNA will also be published below.

The next PNA is due for publication at the latest by 1 April 2021.
