Help and support

Experiencing a hate crime or hate incident can affect people in different ways. You might feel:

  • angry, frustrated or upset
  • hurt, disrespected or devalued
  • alone or like you don’t belong
  • worried about it happening again
  • less safe in spaces you used to feel comfortable

Whatever you’re feeling, you don’t have to go through it alone. You can access free and confidential support from Greater Manchester Victims’ Services, including:

  • a safe space to talk and be heard
  • clear information and practical guidance so you can understand your options
  • someone to speak on your behalf with police and other services if you choose
  • referrals to trusted organisations for more support, if and when you’re ready

Greater Manchester Victims’ Services is delivered by Catch22, an independent charity and funded by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. They're independent from the police and you do not need to have reported the crime to the police to access support.
