All our tours are led by our expert demonstrators. They will share their knowledge and expertise about the history of the hatting industry. You will be taken on a tour, giving you insight into the processes involved in producing a hat.
At the tour you will;
- learn about the cottage industry
- pay a visit to a typical hatter’s cottage
- enjoy demonstrations with our original working Victorian-style machinery
- plus much more
Tours can be customised on request to suit the size of your party and. the length of time you have to spend at the museum. Please note that a normal guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour.
Following the tour your party will enjoy our large hat gallery. We have a collection of over 400 hats from around the world. There are celebrity hats and a top hat reputed to be the tallest in the world.
In this gallery visitors will also find our temporary exhibition space. It is always popular with visitors and has a wide-ranging exhibition programme.
