What we do
For many years weve supported children and young people with a wide range of disabilities to:
- join in activities
- make friends
- achieve new things
- live as active and independent a life as possible
We'll work alongside you to create a personalised support plan around your child/young persons needs and interests so they can access the activities they enjoy, as well as enabling them to try new experiences. This could include:
- a physical activity such as swimming and bowling
- taking part in group activities such as Brownies or Scouts
- a more laid back and social activity such as visiting a local caf or enjoying some fresh air at the local park
Our skilled and fully trained staff are on hand to encourage and offer support where needed to develop and promote independence and friendships that go beyond the support we offer.
We also know that some children/young people might want some support in their own home and were happy to discuss that as an option as well.
Youth activity groups
We provide disabled children and young people aged 4 to 18 with the opportunity to take part in a programme of regular after school and Saturday group activities.
The sessions are fun, support the development of skills and interests, encourage independence and interaction and are affordable for families.
Each session focuses on a specific activity or theme such as cookery, multi sports activities, arts and crafts, gardening, dance or sensory play.
Most sessions accommodate a maximum of 16 children and young people, with participants at each session split into smaller groups based on age. Some sessions may also involve trips off-site.
You can find more information about our youth activity groups on the Supportability website.
