What we do

We're a local voluntary organisation providing support to adults in the Stockport area who experience severe and enduring mental health problems.

We offer a wide variety of social, leisure, therapeutic and educational activities that take place both in the centre itself and at outside venues.

We have created the following services for our members:

  • art groups
  • social groups
  • relaxation and wellbeing
  • IT courses
  • football group
  • women's group
  • Horizons/evening social group
  • day trippers group
  • SPARC4YoungAdults, a social and therapeutic project for people aged 18 to 30
  • SPARC Counselling Service, which offers 1-1 therapy, a variety of group workshops and a decluttering/hoarding group

The centre was set up as a registered charity in 1984. We employ around 20 staff as well as a larger number of volunteers who constitute an important element of the service we provide.
