What we do

Our aim is to encourage children to enjoy singing to as high a standard as possible, offering the chance to follow-up and further improve on skills that are being learned in schools. Each rehearsal begins with a vocal warm-up, both to prepare the children for the session ahead and also to improve their knowledge and understanding about the quality of the sound, and of the teamwork skills required for singing together.

We've enjoyed performing at the Stockport Showcase and more recently, the Festival on the Field. We've also appreciated a number of invitations to sing at local churches or events, such as Stockport's launch day for the Olympic countdown. As well as opportunities to sing with local adult choirs, at the MEN arena, and also recording two carols with the BBC Philharmonic orchestra for Radio Manchester.

We regularly take part in events organised by the North West Singing Partnership, coming together with similar choirs to perform larger scale works.

We meet every Monday from 5pm to 6:15pm.

We wear smart black trousers and shoes with a Stockport Voices polo shirt.
