Stockport Car Scheme
About us

Location
The Heatons Centre, Thornfield Road, Stockport, SK4 3LD
What we do
We're a local registered charity for Stockport residents who struggle to use public transport due to ill health, injury or disability.
Our volunteers use their own cars to provide flexible door to door assisted transport. All clients will be assessed on their suitability when registering.
Our volunteers can take you:
- shopping
- to day centres
- to care homes
- to medical appointments
- to social groups
If you're a carer, we can also provide transport to your own appointments.
For each journey booked, a contribution is requested. This is to cover mileage, insurance etc. There's no charge for the driver's time.
Help with transport is available each day, but you must book a journey in advance. Though you must live in Stockport, we can take you outside the borough.
Most trips are during daytime hours Monday to Friday. Evening and weekend trips are possible depending on volunteer availability.
Volunteering opportunities
