What we do
Marple's library service has moved
Marple Library has moved to make way for the next stage of development of the Marple Community Hub. You can find more information on the Marple Community Hub webpage.
The Marple pop-up library service is now located at Marple Scout Hut.
There you will also find newly installed lockers. Stockport Libraries are the first library authority in the UK (and Ireland) to introduce outdoor lockers.
Marple pop-up library service
Stockport Libraries services are free to all, regardless of where you live.
At the Marple pop-up library, you can:
- use free computers and wifi to get online
- ask library staff to help you make an appointment with Citizens Advice
- get help to scan a QR code and start a WhatsApp chat with Citizens Advice
- get help to access council services
- pick upreservations and return books 24/7 using the newly installed outdoor lockers
You'll also find posters and leaflets with information about getting in touch with services who can help you.
Opening hours
- Tuesday: midday to 6pm
- Thursday: 10am to 4pm
Family Hub
This library is a Family Hub which brings together services, organisations and groups that you can access in one place.
Family hubs support families from pregnancy through to young people aged up to 19, or aged up to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
