Help with digital skills and online safety
5. Help others to get online
Paddy McDonaldDigital Champion
You get a kick out of teaching them and they get a kick out of learning. It works both ways. You feel so good at the end of it when someone’s learnt something.
If you'd like to volunteer to help people in your community to get online please call our Digiknow helpline on 07537 127095.
We're looking for people with basic digital skills, good communication skills and patience to support local people to gain digital skills. You do not need to be really technical as we run a monthly training course to give you the skills to support learners.
DigiKnow groups and organisations
If you're a community group or organisation who provides digital skills support, or who would like to start doing so and who would like to join the DigiKnow community network visit the DigiKnow Centres web page or get in touch on 0161 494 9947.
It can be surprisingly simple to add digital to your regular activities, for example you could show your cooking class how to search for recipes online.
