Funded childcare for 3 and 4-year-olds

5. Start dates
For the universal hours, the date you can start claiming your funded hours depends on your child’s birthday.

| 1 September to 31 December | Start of January (Spring Term) |
| 1 January to 31 March | Start of April (Summer Term) |
| 1 April to 31 August | Start of September (Autumn Term) |
If you're eligible for the extended entitlement of 30 hours funded childcare, your child can start the term after their 3rd birthday (see table above) and the term after you've obtained your eligibility code, whichever comes later.
