The Home from Home Scheme
The Home from Home scheme provides overnight placements for children with autism. This type of fostering is offered to couples and requires energy and dedication. Most of the children using this service will be offered 24 overnight stays per year, although this will vary depending on individual needs. Home from Home carers will provide a total of 210 overnight stays per year in their own homes.
What you can offer
This type of fostering is offered to couples and provides 2:1 care for the child. You'll need to live in the Stockport area or within a reasonable travelling distance and be able to offer a safe and caring environment for children with autism. Experience of caring for children with autism would be beneficial but full training and support will be provided.
