Temporary traffic regulation orders (TTROs) for public rights of way
You can request a TTRO to temporarily close a public right of way if you need to carry out work in the area. There are 2 types of TTRO which you can request.
Emergency closure
You can request an emergency closure if a public right of way has become obstructed or if there's a hazard to members of the public. An emergency closure order will last 21 days. You'll need to pay a fee of £719.
Planned work closure
If you're planning to carry out work on a public right of way, you can request a planned work closure for up to 6 months. We'll need at least 3 weeks to process a request for a planned work closure. You'll need to pay a fee of £1,284.

This may then be shared with internal departments (for example, Legal, Highways), and external parties such as the Planning Inspectorate, landowners, or other interested parties, in accordance with our organisational privacy notice. We never sell your data to third parties or use it to market to you without your consent.
