Anyone over the age of 12, fishing in freshwaters in England and Wales, must have an Environment Agency Rod Licence.

Public notice to all anglers
Many user groups including walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, canoeists and conservationists, use the same areas as fisherman. Every effort should be made to avoid conflict.
Make sure that full consideration is given to others whilst fishing:
- do not block paths
- always remove litter and fishing tackle
- stick to the rules of the fishery
