Greater Manchester minor ailments scheme
This scheme is offered by chemists across Stockport. It provides free advice and medicine where appropriate, to help you treat and manage a range of minor ailments and conditions. You can use the scheme if you're:
- under 16
- 16, 17 or 18 and in full time education
- 60 or over
- named on current HC2 charges certificate
- entitled or named on valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption certificate
Or if you have a valid :
- maternity exemption certificate
- medical exemption certificate
- prescription exemption certificate issued by Ministry of Defence
Or if you get:
- Income Support or income related ESA
- income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, including partners
- Universal Credit and meet the criteria to get help with health costs

- constipation
- contact dermatitis
- diarrhoea
- dry eyes
- ear wax
- fever
- post immunisation fever
- head lice
- indigestion and heartburn
- insect bites and stings
- mouth ulcers
- nappy rash
- pain, including teething
- threadworm
- oral thrush
