4. Road markings

Yellow lines are provided where there is a need to:

  • restrict parking to help reduce dangers
  • alleviate traffic flow
  • prevent obstructions on the highway

White lines on the road are provided to help road users by giving information on lane use and directions. Longitudinal markings are used to inform and warn road users of approaching situations.

Road markings are just as important as signs and we use them to enable all road users to travel safely.
