Stockport Symphony Orchestra spring matinee concert
One well-known and popular piece by Edward Elgar, one less well-known gem by Brahms, and perhaps the most famous Mozart symphony to grace our new matinée concert this year. Sadly, Mozart never reached his 40th birthday. He did however, reach 40 in symphonies and it is his fantastic 40th symphony which makes up the second half of our matinée concert; quite apt for our own 40th season. We welcome two of the Royal Northern College of Music's most talented students to the Town Hall this afternoon for the annual student conductors' concert. The afternoon includes:
- Elgar Introduction and Allegro
- Brahms Serenade No. 2
- Mozart Symphony No. 40
There will also be tea and cakes at this special Sunday afternoon performance.
