Stockport Symphony Orchestra - Rite of Spring
Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' caused a near riot when it was first played in 1913. It still retains a freshness and energy today if not quite the shock value to ears which have become differently attuned in the intervening century.
And Peter Donohoe is attracting plaudits for the freshness of his interpretation of Mozart piano works. He has a busy time ahead as conductor and soloist for tonight's concert
