Make stuff with Madlab

  • Brush Bots: Create your own art-making robot with the team at Manchester Girl Geeks!

  • PatternCraft:Drop in Programming - using mallets! Get hands-on and create your own art within Minecraft.

  • PatternCraft+: Make 3D Minecraft structures with code, and print them on a 3D printer with PatternCraft creator Gemma May Latham!

  • 3D Printer Demo: You’ve heard all about them, now come and see one in action! You’ll also get to take home your own 3D printed mini mascot!

  • Laser Harp: Come play on our stringless laser harp, see its light show in action.

  • Build a Badge: Learn how to solder, and make a circuit with flashing lights with our drop-in build a badge workshop.

  • Wearable Tech: Explore the future of fashion and technology and design your own tech tote bag.

  • DIY Touch Screen Gloves: Learn about touch screen technology and bring your own gloves to convert with the team at Manchester Girl Geeks!

  • Train Ticket Origami: Harness the power of maths to create origami creatures with the contents of your pockets.

Digital Art with David Boultbee – The Glass Work

A magical fusion of art and technology: The Glass Work reads the colours in photographs and interprets them as sounds played on six hand blown glass gongs.

DWP – Scratch Session

Never tried Coding before and would like to try? Already an enthusiastic coder but would like to try something else? All the family are welcome to bring your own devices with you and meet Kirsty and Mark who will use their knowledge and enthusiasm to support you through your coding experience.

Digi-Drop- in – Reading Room

Perplexed by how to takes apps off an IPad? Frustrated when your Smartphone won’t play the new game you’ve installed? Been given a new tablet and not sure how to make the most of it?

Then the Digi-Drop in is for you! We will have volunteers on hand during the events to answer those questions and more. So bring your questions and bring your devices and let us help you DigiKnow how to resolve those frustrations.

E-Safety Sessions: 10:30 – 12 and 13:30 – 15:00

Concerned about the amount of time your kids are spending online? Want to know how to protect your devices?

Then come along to one of our two E-Safety Sessions for Mums, Dads and Internet Whizz kids!

These interactive sessions, delivered by Continuing Education Service, will provide you with an overview of how to stay safe online. The sessions will be held in the Minor Hall located in the basement of Stockport Central Library.
