Step behind the scenes and discover the stories, skills and people bringing Bramall Hall’s restoration to life.
This is a rare chance to chat face-to-face with the experts caring for this extraordinary historic building. From architects and stonemasons to conservators, carpenters, ecologists and even a bee specialist, you’ll hear first-hand how their skills help preserve the Hall for future generations.
What to expect
This family-friendly, all-ages event is designed to be engaging and interactive, with plenty to see, do and try. Activities take place both inside and outside the Hall, including:
- friendly, informal opportunities to meet the restoration team
- discover how new work blends seamlessly with historic fabric
- behind-the-scenes tours of the project
- hands-on activities, including traditional crafts like wattle and daub
- interactive elements specially designed to engage younger visitors
- insights into specialist conservation techniques, including bat-safe construction
Whether you're drawn to history, intrigued by restoration, or simply seeking a great day out, there's something here for everyone.

We recommend allowing 1 to 2 hours to enjoy the activities.
