Ethnic Minority Achievement (EMA) specialist teachers
Our specialist teachers work alongside mainstream teachers to build capacity in schools. They provide training, effective teaching and learning strategies, and give advice on resources. They also carry out English language assessments. If there are concerns about possible special educational needs and disability (SEND), they conduct first language assessments using an interpreter.
They also carry out school audits, environmental and learning walks, and help schools develop action plans and policies.
Our specialist teachers also provide direct support to new arrivals and advanced bilingual learners.
