Emergency planning

1. Overview

In this section you'll find useful links and information on what to do before and after an incident occurs.

There are lots of emergencies that affect the UK every year, but fortunately in Stockport and Greater Manchester as a whole, they don’t happen often.

Whilst we can’t prevent emergencies happening, we can plan ahead to help reduce the impact.

Visit GOV.UK and read the National Risk Register for information on risks and what you should do in the event of an incident. Being aware, preparing and responding are key.

If you can't find the information you're looking for or would like to know more, you can contact us by calling 0161 474 3063 or emailing emergency.planning@stockport.gov.uk.
