Canvass communication form
Each year, Electoral Services compile the Register of Electors for Stockport Council.
We do this through the annual canvass, which takes place between July and November and rolling registration, which is done on a monthly basis. On 1 December, 2 electoral registers are published, the full register and the open register.
You’ll receive a canvass communication form as part of the annual canvass. This is a survey carried out every year to make sure that the register of electors is kept up to date.
All eligible residents need to be included on the form. Eligible residents are:
- people who are aged 16 years or over - although they'll not be able to vote until they are 18
- British, Irish or EU citizens, or a Commonwealth citizen who has leave to remain in the UK or who does not require leave to remain in the UK
