Stockport understands and respects the right of parents/carers to elect to educate their children at home. We aim to support parents/carers by providing advice and information when and where it's needed.
The Elective Home Education (EHE) contact person can support parents/carers through:
- advice on sources of learning materials
- information on the National Curriculum
- information on options and choices available, for example, examinations and registered centres
- information on activities involving children across Stockport
- providing a ‘listening ear’ and to helping to make informed choices
The EHE contact person will not:
- compare the education being provided at home with that at school
- provide support through teaching an EHE child
- provide materials for teaching purposes
The EHE contact person is available for consultation in your own home by appointment or at an agreed alternative venue.
