Get in touch

Stockport understands and respects the right of parents/carers to elect to educate their children at home. We aim to support parents/carers by providing advice and information when and where it's needed.

The Elective Home Education (EHE) contact person can support parents/carers through:

  • advice on sources of learning materials
  • information on the National Curriculum
  • information on options and choices available, for example, examinations and registered centres
  • information on activities involving children across Stockport
  • providing a ‘listening ear’ and to helping to make informed choices

The EHE contact person will not:

  • compare the education being provided at home with that at school
  • provide support through teaching an EHE child
  • provide materials for teaching purposes

The EHE contact person is available for consultation in your own home by appointment or at an agreed alternative venue.
