School admissions

If your child is starting primary or secondary school and does not have an education, health and care plan (EHCP), you must follow the school admission process to apply for a school place.

You must still apply for a school place if you're waiting for:

the outcome of an education, health and care (EHC) assessment

a final EHCP to be issued

If you do not apply for a school place and your child's EHCP is not issued then you may not get a place at your preferred school.

As your EHC application is processed, you'll receive an email from the Stockport Family portal to register your account. Once you have completed the registration form, you'll receive a verification code which you need to email to ehcp.portal@stockport.gov.uk. Our team will then verify your account and send you an invitation email to access the portal.

Each parent can register to view the record independently.

If your child already has a plan we'll send you an invitation to register.
