Early years: children up to 4 years

2. After a diagnosis

You'll receive a report confirming your child’s diagnosis and summarising the outcome of the assessment. Your child will be reviewed by their Consultant Paediatrician and involvement from other services will continue as planned.

You'll be invited to an autism coffee morning to find out more about the support available for autistic children and their families in Stockport.

If your child attends a mainstream setting in reception, they will also be referred to the Stockport Autism Team. If your child attends a specialist or resourced setting, they may be eligible for support from the Children’s Community Learning Disability Team (CCLDT) instead.

Empowering Parents Empowering Communities run a 10 week course, specifically for parents of autistic children. Find more information about Stockport Empowering Parents Empowering Communities.
