About us
Dementia disco is an initiative for people living with dementia in the Stockport area.
We hold monthly dementia discos in Heaton Mersey and Cheadle Hulme. Our award winning discos are held at the weekends, in the early evenings. They are free to attend, and we provide a free meal. They are not restricted to the person with dementia and their carer, friends and family are welcome to come too. We encourage multigenerational groups, and our own children often attend.
There is a wealth of evidence to support the idea that music can have a positive impact on people’s mental health. Our aim is to use music to inspire memories, conversation, and friendships in and between people living with dementia.
Our Cheadle Hulme disco is the 2nd Saturday of every month and is located at Ladybridge Park Residents Club Edenbridge Road, Cheadle Hulme, SK8 5PX. There is a free meal. Drinks can be purchased from the bar.
Our Heaton Mersey disco is the 4th Saturday of every month and is located at Heaton Mersey Conservative Club, 444 Didsbury Road, Stockport, SK4 3BS. There is a free meal, tea and coffee. Other drinks can be purchased from the bar.
