We offer a weight management service for adults and families, including:
- one-to-one support
- group programmes
- virtual and face to face appointments
Eligibility for adults
To be eligible, you must:
- be a Stockport resident
- be aged 18 and over
- have a BMI 25 or over (lower BMI eligibility of 23 kg/m2 for: Black-African, African-Caribbean and Asian people, or those with other health conditions, such as co-morbidities, including type 2 diabetes)
Eligibility for children and young people
To be eligible, you must:
- be a Stockport resident, or attend a school in Stockport
- be aged 4 to 17
- have been identified as overweight

You can self-refer by:
- calling or emailing us directly
- contacting START by calling 0161 474 3141 or emailing start@stockport.gov.uk
- using the online referral form
