Lisburne School Holiday Play Scheme

About us

We offer a school holiday play scheme for pupils who attend the school. The school holiday play scheme offers group-based activities for pupils with complex learning needs. This scheme gives pupils the opportunity to access a range of activities in a safe and secure setting with staff trained to meet their needs in an environment the children are familiar and comfortable with.

The activities include:

• ICT
• arts
• cookery
• PE
• sensory activities
• dance

These are in addition to life skill visits, for example, to the local shops, café, or visiting the local park for walks and playing on the equipment.

Specifically tailored activities will be in place for some pupils, for example, swimming/warm water play at the local swimming baths or bike riding at one of the Supportability 'Wheelers' facilities.

These clubs allow the children and young people the opportunity to extend their social skills, support their speech and language and progress their physical abilities.

The play scheme builds confidence and friendship and also provides parents and carers a short break from their caring role.

Who is it for?

Pupils of Lisburne Special School, ages 5 to 11.
