The Children's Equipment and Adaptations Service (CEAS) is an established service funded by Social Services and is provided by NHS Foundation Trust. It works in close partnership with Housing, Education and Social Care and links to many other agencies to provide an effective, integrated equipment and adaptation service for children with disabilities and additional needs.
Where are CEAS based?
CEAS are based with the school teams from children's therapies and have offices in central Stockport.
Who is this service for?
Children with physical disabilities and/or special needs who require an assessment for any adaptations and/or equipment in their own homes.
How can CEAS help?
Specialist Occupational Therapists and Support Staff provide advice and/or assess for equipment and/or adaptations that would address difficulties with activities of daily living in the home, for example: access, bathing and toileting.
How to request the service
This service is for children up to 18 years old who have a Stockport address.
You can either complete an Early Help Assessment, a referral form, call us or email to request the current referral form.
If you're a Stockport Foundation Trust health professional using the EMIS patient system, please use the referral form on the system and tick the

Who can refer to CEAS?
Parents/Carers, Social Workers, GP, Health Professionals, Teachers or anyone else who feels that a child (0 to 18), who is resident in Stockport, may benefit from an assessment.
What happens after the referral?
The referrer and parent/carer will receive a letter acknowledging the referral and will set out the anticipated time-scales for the assessment to take place.
When is the service available?
Initially information and advice is given over the phone where appropriate and then the referral is prioritised. The service operates Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Where is the service available?
