Dignity in care

At Stockport council, we are committed to improving dignity in care for people in Stockport.

One of our aims is to make sure that the personal experience of people who use local health and care services is a positive one. View the partnership agreement (PDF 88Kb) to read about the levels of service that people in need of care can expect to receive.

Anyone wishing to support the Dignity in Care campaign can sign up to become a Dignity Champion.

Dignity Action Day 2018

If you care about making services better for people, treating people as individuals and getting the basics of care right then get involved in the next Dignity Action Day on 01 February 2018.

Every year, in partnership with NHS Stockport, Healthwatch Stockport and other health and social care organisations, we support the national Dignity Action Day.

Dignity Action Day is a national initiative lead by the Dignity in Care Campaign. Its aim is to bring staff and members of the public together to make a difference to those in care.
