A century ago, Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery was opened as a place of reflection and healing, honouring those lost in the First World War. Today, it stands as a symbol of hope, resilience and the enduring power of art.
To mark its centenary, this special exhibition brings together artwork from children and young people with treasured objects from Stockport’s museum collection to offer a rich tapestry of interpretations, each one a unique perspective on what makes something truly beautiful.
The exhibition honours the past, embraces the present and looks forward to a future where beauty continues to bring light to even the darkest of times.
