Test and trace scams
We've received reports of criminals trying to con people out of money by pretending to be from the NHS Test and Trace Service. This is a scam. The NHS Test and Trace service is free and you will never be asked to make a payment. Visit the Local Government Association website for more information.
Coronavirus local outbreak plan and testing
3. NHS test and trace service
Anyone who tests positive for coronavirus will be contacted by the NHS test and trace service. You'll need to share information about people you've recently been in contact with. This could include:
- household members
- people who you've been in direct contact with
- people who you've been within 2 metres of for more than 15 minutes
If you're identified as someone who has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus, you must stay at home for 14 days, even if you do not have symptoms.
You can find information about how to get support while you're self isolating on our help for vulnerable people web page.
