1. Getting tested
We've been working with Stockport’s Clinical Commissioning Group and other partners to create additional drive through testing facilities. These are in addition to those offered by the national and regional testing programmes.
The drive through testing facilities are now open for Stockport residents and workers who are eligible for testing in line with government guidance. You can be tested if you have any of these coronavirus related symptoms:
- a new continuous cough
- a high temperature
- a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
Testing is strictly by appointment only and is currently only available to those residents who can access the service by car.
If you cannot get to a test centre by car, you can order a home test kit from the GOV.UK website.
If you're eligible for a test
If you're eligible for a test email firstname.lastname@example.org. You'll be sent a testing request form to complete and return.
When we receive your form, you'll be booked onto the earliest available appointment.
Capacity for this local service is limited and we'll prioritise essential workers and the most vulnerable.
If demand is more than the test centre can cope with, requests will be routed through our access to the national system.
If you have symptoms you must continue to self-isolate at home for 7 days from when you first noticed your symptoms. If you live with someone who has symptoms, you must self-isolate for 14 days from their first symptom.
