Foodbanks

Foodbanks provide food parcels with a minimum of 3 days' food for households in need.

Stockport has 2 main foodbank providers:

Stockport Foodbank

Stockport Foodbank centres are open 6 days a week. They can be found across Stockport in:

  • Bredbury
  • Cheadle
  • Cheadle Heath
  • Hazel Grove
  • Heaton Norris
  • Offerton
  • Reddish

Food deliveries are prioritised to those shielding or self isolating who cannot visit the foodbank and can demonstrate need.

Chelwood Foodbank

If you're self isolating at home or cannot get to a foodbank for other reasons, Chelwood Foodbank offer food parcel deliveries. Chelwood has 4 centres located around Stockport:

  • Cheadle Hulme
  • Brinnington
  • Petersgate, Stockport
  • Edgeley

Low cost food

Your Local Pantry

Your Local Pantry is a community food store designed to give those with financial difficulties a helping hand. For £3.50 per week they provide a food bag of at least 10 items. The items can be worth up to £15 and change each week depending on the supplies they receive.

Your Local Pantry has 3 locations across Stockport:

Support with shopping offer

If you can pay for food but cannot go shopping as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, you can access support to help with food shopping through the Stockport Council Welfare Line on 0161 217 6046.

If you're referred and have access to the internet you'll receive priority food delivery slots with either Tesco or Iceland. If you do not have access to the internet you'll be referred to Age UK Stockport.
